Making A Purchase

Terms These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply in the future.

None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of English Law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.

Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept card payments. Prices are shown in Sterling. Prices are also shown in Euros and US Dollars but these are indicative only. At the checkout, prices are only shown in Sterling and processed in £ Sterling. If your payment method currency is not in £ Sterling then final price you pay will be subject to the exchange rate between Sterling and your local currency used by your card provider (or Paypal).

We accept payment by American Express, MasterCard, Paypal and Visa. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship including back orders. If you do not wish to pay online, please call us to place your order on +44(0)1525 211488.

If you have made a mistake in your order and you cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake if your order has not already been shipped.

When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. This will happen when your goods are despatched from us. We do our best to insure that the information on our website is accurate and up to date. However, occasionally we may realise that we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the new price is acceptable.

Please note that our prices online may vary to the shop prices. This is due to the comparative costs of running a shop where you can browse, try on and ensure the correct size. Online selling the overheads are much less and therefore is reflected in some lower prices. Please also note that we cannot price match our website prices with our shop prices.

EU: Mainland DHL: Islands (including Republic of Ireland) will be via Royal Mail and your local postal service.

Delivery is free to all UK addresses, including BFPO addresses, the Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. Delivery charges to non-UK addresses are shown when you checkout.

USA Protectorates: Local duty will be paid by the customer

We will process your order right away

As we carry the entire catalogue from most of our suppliers, it is not possible to hold every item in stock and therefore we will order your item direct when it is not in stock. Most of our suppliers ship next day so most items will be shipped to you within 5 working days.

Please note that we do not Drop Ship.

International orders are generally delivered in less than 10 days when sent via DHL. Orders sent via Royal Mail may take longer.

You must inform us within two working days of the expected delivery date if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.

You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.

Back Orders

Back Orders Very rarely, if your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. With the exception of a couple of EU or North American suppliers, most items are on automatic replenishment so are only days away from being back in stock.

Tax Charges

All prices shown include VAT where applciable. If you are ordering from outside the EU, you do not need to pay VAT and it will be deducted at the checkout.

When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption and are processed in accordance with payment industry regulations. We do not have access to unencrypted data.

Guarantee's and Extended Warranty.

We offer our UK customers free delivery to UK addresses and free returns. and we offer a 2 year guarantee against manfuacturing faults.

Extended Warranty terms and conditions:  This warranty is not offered by the manufacturer as standard and is offered exclusively by Rugged & Tough.

At Rugged & Tough quality matters most with all the products we sell.  They must be free of manufacturing faults during the life of the item.  The life of the garment depends it being used for the intended purpose and cared for in the required way as per the manufacturers instructions on the care label or user guide.

Should the item fail due to a manufacturing fault during the extended period, Rugged & Tough will repair the item free of charge or should a repair not be feasible, then replace it with a new product.  Should the product be discontinued, the we will replace the item with the closest match to the original.  The closest match may be significantly different, but still be the closest match.

The item to qualify for the 2 year warranty must not be "worn out". The following list is not exhaustive, but gives example of the term Worn Out.

Worn Out:

  • The sole has little or no tread left, partially or fully
  • Has holes in the garment where the cloth has worn away through wear.
  • The item has had no aftercare treatment, such as leather boots where the leather is dried out, cracked and no longer useable.
  • The knees are worn through, partialy or completely.
  • Accidental damage: Your home insurance should be used for this purpose.

Examples of what we will cover in the warranty

  • Broken teeth on Zips, (providing the stud or buttons are in place above it)
  • Opened main seams
  • Splits in Wellingtons, but not tears

Waterproof Garments

  • Garments must be laundered in accordance with the Manufacturers instructions
  • Reproofing the outershell is not covered by this warranty as "wet out" is normal after about 6 -12 months wear
  • Garments washed in Biological Detergents are not covered by this warranty
  • Decorated Embrodered and embellished Garments are not covered.

Returns Policy

Returns Policy If your delivery address is within the European Union, your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive.

You are entitled to cancel your order and return the goods within 30 days for a full refund, including the cost of delivery. Do this by contacting us by email or telephone and quoting the order number supplied to you. Your refund will be paid within 30 days of us receiving the goods back. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value. If you are returning goods from within the UK we will supply if requested a Freepost shipping label. You do not need to pay for postage when using this label, but you may wish to obtain postal insurance at your discretion. This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

If your delivery address is outside the European Union, we also want you to be satisfied with your purchase. You can cancel your order and return the goods within 30 days for a full refund, excluding delivery charges. Do this by contacting us by email or telephone and quoting the order number supplied to you. Your refund will be paid within 30 days of us receiving the goods back. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value. You can exchange your order for a different size/colour. You can return your original order for an exchange which will be reshipped free of charge. If you change an order more than once, we reserve the right to apply shipping charges for the replacement. Please call or email us as soon as you know you want to exchange the item and we will arrange the replacement item to be ready for despatch as soon as the original order is received back.

Any goods returned should be in saleable condition, in their original packaging, free from damage, marks and pet hairs for example. Full details of our returns conditions can be found on the back of your delivery note.

As with most major retailers, returns can be made personally in store, however we cannot process your return through the shop payment systems.

Customers in North America can return their order to our returns servicing centre in Cincinnati, Ohio. Full details of how to do this can be found with your order.
Items classified as hazardous materials are not returnable. Please contact us for issues concerning these items.

All refunds go to the original purchaser. A full refund will be due provided the return is received within the return window.
You will receive email confirmation when the refund is processed.

Returns during the Christmas period During the Christmas period we offer an extended return period; this applies to purchases made between 1st of November and the 31st of December each year. Items purchased during this period are eligible for a full refund if received by January 31st.
